Ultimate Spider-Man is an open-world superhero action-adventure game based on the Marvel Comics series of the same name, written by Brian Michael Bendis with art by Mark Bagley.

The game’s unique style comes from its cel-shaded comic book visuals, which make it feel like you’re playing inside the pages of a graphic novel.

Unlike other Spider-Man games of the era, Ultimate Spider-Man blends free-roaming exploration, story-driven missions, and dual character gameplay, allowing players to experience the world through both Spider-Man and his darker counterpart, Venom.

Ultimate Spider-Man story takes place in the Ultimate Marvel Universe, an alternate continuity where classic Spider-Man characters and events are reimagined.

The game begins with Peter Parker already established as Spider-Man, having just encountered the alien Venom symbiote — which eventually bonds with Eddie Brock. After their initial confrontation, a chain of events unfolds involving other villains, S.H.I.E.L.D., and even a few cameos from fellow Marvel heroes.
