Need for Speed: Carbon is a high-speed street racing game developed by EA Black Box and published by Electronic Arts, released for the PlayStation 2 in 2006

As the follow-up to Need for Speed: Most Wanted, Carbon continues the series’ tradition of underground racing, police chases, and car customization — but adds new layers of strategy, storytelling, and crew-based mechanics.

Story Overview

The story picks up after the events of Need for Speed: Most Wanted. You return to Palmont City under mysterious circumstances. A flashback reveals a botched race and a stolen briefcase full of money — and now the city’s most dangerous crews think you’re responsible.

You’re pursued by Cross, a returning ex-cop turned bounty hunter, and confronted by three major crews who want revenge.

A woman named Darius offers you protection and helps you get back on your feet — but not everything is as it seems.

Your mission is to rebuild your crew, prove your innocence, and uncover the truth behind the betrayal that forced you to flee the city years ago.
