Metal Gear Solid 2: Substance is an expanded edition of Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty, a stealth-action game developed by Konami and directed by legendary game designer Hideo Kojima. Released for the PlayStation 2 in 2002, Substance takes the core game of Sons of Liberty and builds upon it with a wealth of bonus content, including new missions, alternate scenarios, and gameplay modes.

Part of the critically acclaimed Metal Gear series, Substance retains the series’ hallmark combination of tactical espionage, deep storytelling, cinematic presentation, and philosophical themes.
