Devil May Cry 2 is the sequel to the acclaimed Devil May Cry, continuing the story of the half-demon demon hunter Dante.

The game takes place in a fictional, futuristic metropolis called Vie de Marli, a city dominated by a wealthy industrialist and villain named Arius. Arius seeks to use demonic powers to gain immortality and reshape the world under his rule.

Dante enters the city to stop Arius and confront the growing demonic threat. Players also encounter Lucia, a new playable character with her own storyline parallel to Dante’s, offering a different perspective on the events. The narrative explores themes of corruption, ambition, and the consequences of unchecked power.
