Introduction

James Bond 007: Nightfire is a first-person shooter video game developed by Eurocom and published by Electronic Arts (EA).

It was released for the PlayStation 2 in 2002, and is part of the long-running James Bond video game franchise.

It is notable for being one of the few Bond games that features an original storyline not directly based on a film, though it draws strong inspiration from the style and themes of the Pierce Brosnan-era James Bond movies. Brosnan’s likeness is used for Bond in the game, though he does not voice the character.

Story Overview

The story begins with Bond on a covert mission in Paris to intercept a secret microchip during a high-profile party.

This leads him into an international conspiracy involving a powerful industrialist named Rafael Drake, who operates under the guise of philanthropy while secretly building a private arsenal of nuclear weapons in space.

Bond discovers that Drake plans to destroy world governments using his Phoenix International corporation, and then rebuild the world under his control.

With the help of allies like Zoe Nightshade and Alura McCall, Bond travels across various exotic locations—ranging from the snowy Austrian Alps to a Japanese skyscraper, to a secret underwater base and eventually into outer space—to stop Drake’s plans.
